Kosmas Barbatsis born in Spetses island in 1792 and it died 1887. Even all thug he did not come from a rich family he offered , his courage that ensured him a place in the history of Spetses island. He followed the naval profession and at the duration of Revolution he took part in a lot of naval battles (Geronta, Kafirea, Naypactos, Preveza and Patrases). The battle that made him elected ' was his attack in the Turkish flagship at the Naval battle of Spetses island in1822. daring the action he forced the Turks to recede and thus it judged actually the result of battle. Afterwards the end of the Fight t Barbatsis lived in the island .
